Dr. Akmal Hisham Miswan

Dr. Akmal is a highly qualified, board-certified aesthetic and plastic surgeon based in Malaysia. He earned his medical degree from the University of Manchester, UK, before achieving Membership in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS). Advancing his specialization locally, he went on to complete his Master of Surgery in Plastic Surgery at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

Recognized internationally for his medical excellence, Dr. Akmal was chosen as the sole annual recipient of the prestigious John D. Constable International Traveling Fellowship by the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS). This exclusive opportunity allowed him to train alongside world-renowned pioneers in aesthetic surgery across major medical hubs in the United States, including New York, Atlanta, and Newport Beach, California. To further refine his surgical artistry and mastery of advanced cosmetic techniques, he also completed a specialized Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship in Istanbul, Turkey.

An active contributor to medical advancement, Dr. Akmal has earned numerous accolades for his academic work. In 2016, his innovative approach to breast reduction surgery secured the best oral presentation award at the London Breast Meeting. His research on facial attractiveness was similarly honored with the best poster award at the 3rd International Burn & Wound Conference in 2019. In addition to co-authoring multiple peer-reviewed scientific papers and a textbook chapter on burn care, he has received various innovation awards for his meaningful contributions to burn surgery.

Dr. Akmal’s clinical expertise spans surgical facial rejuvenation, aesthetic eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, breast enhancement, high-definition liposuction, advanced body contouring, and autologous fat transfer (to the face, breasts, and buttocks). Alongside his aesthetic practice, he is deeply dedicated to reconstructive surgery, offering compassionate, expert care for patients dealing with burn injuries, skin cancers, facial trauma, congenital deformities in children, and complex chronic wounds like diabetic and pressure ulcers.
